2017 Grant Recipients


Gilgal

Gilgal is a Christ-centered recovery residence for women experiencing homelessness due to drug and alcohol addiction. Through our one-year, two-phase program, we provide food, clothing and housing, as well as a full range of addiction services, spiritual nourishment, life skills, and client aftercare. We are located in Atlanta and currently serve the metro area, as well as greater Georgia.


Mission:

To educate, equip and empower women to embrace a future free of drugs/alcohol by utilizing their fullest potential in a God honoring way through daily treatment, counseling and life skills development.

OHS Grant:

Used to renovate the recently purchased 3,500 square foot Recovery, Education and Workforce Development Center.


 


Friends of Refugees

We provide environments where people are free to contribute not only to their own well-being, but also to the well-being of their families, neighbors and communities.

We have seen what happens when women and children receive foundational education: the entire family thrives for generations to come!

Empowering refugees and immigrants by providing employment opportunities through computer access, job readiness training and social and professional networking events.


Mission:

Empowering refugees through opportunities for well-being, education and employment.

OHS Grant:

Used to launch a new program, PeaceGrowers, that will develop and disciple the youth and elderly of the refugee population.


 


PAWkids

Paradise Atlanta Westside Enrichment Center, Inc.

PAWKids enrichment program is committed to partnering with the parents of Grove Park for the holistic development of their children spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically.


Mission:

To provide a quality enrichment program in a safe, loving, and Christian environment while providing families with various resources that will empower and encourage them.

OHS Grant:  

Used to expand our programming by creating a focused family ministry to serve our PAWkids' parents and other low-income parents in Grove Park - Atlanta.

One Hundred Shares is a 501c3 Christ-centered organization that awards financial grants to selected Christian nonprofit ministries in the greater Atlanta area who serve those in need and proclaim the Gospel. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations that will use the proceeds to expand an existing program or establish a new initiative.
